Silicon Pre-Melt Preparation

Interlab pre-melt etcher for bulk cleaning of silicon chunks and wafer pieces prior to melt for ingot growth, is sized to allow ease of handling of large capacity workloads. Process stages are specially equipped to handle the dust and fines inherent with basketloads of chunked silicon. Ultrasonic, caustic, and acid washing prepare the raw material for melt.

Water conserving rinse ensures final purity of material with low running-costs, and uniquely prepares work for subsequent evaporative drying. Interlab’s high-purity MD-250 dryers can thoroughly dry a basket of the smallest material sizes in approximately 10 minutes. Multiple dryers, working in parallel, are used to achieve much shorter throughput cycle.
